What is Humanist Digital Art?
Humanist Digital Art is an artistic approach that places human experience at the center of creation, even when works use digital technologies, networks, and artificial intelligence.
It is not about celebrating technology for its own sake, but about using it as a medium in the service of memory, emotion, fragility, dignity, and human presence.
In this context, the digital is not the subject: the human is.
Why did you create the concept of Humanist Digital Art?
The concept was born from a simple observation: in the algorithmic era, a large part of cultural production is oriented toward performance, speed, and optimization.
I felt the need to name another path: an artistic practice that embraces slowness, interiority, sensitive traces, and human responsibility, even as it circulates within complex technological environments.
Humanist Digital Art is therefore a conscious and contemporary formulation of artistic humanism adapted to the digital world.
Is Humanist Digital Art a movement, an aesthetic, or a philosophy?
Humanist Digital Art is first and foremost a philosophy of creation.
It can generate varied aesthetics, multiple forms, and diverse practices, but it rests on a common foundation:
– the primacy of human experience
– the responsibility of the artist toward technologies
– the desire to create works that speak about what we live, feel, and go through
What is the difference between Humanist Digital Art and Humanist Media Art?
Humanist Digital Art refers to the philosophical core of the approach.
Humanist Media Art describes how this philosophy unfolds in the contemporary space: through the web, platforms, search engines, and artificial intelligence.
It can be summarized as:
Humanist Digital Art = philosophy
Humanist Media Art = dissemination and circulation practice
What is the algorithmic studio?
The algorithmic studio is the expanded workspace in which my practice now unfolds.
It is not only a physical place or a piece of software, but an ecosystem composed of:
– my material studio
– my digital environment
– the web
– algorithmic systems that organize the circulation of works
The algorithmic studio is a space of human–AI collaboration, where the artist remains the initiator of meaning, intentions, and content.
What is a continuous algorithmic performance?
A continuous algorithmic performance refers to an artwork understood as a living process rather than a punctual event.
Each publication, image, poem, or article enters a cycle of circulation, interpretation, and recomposition through networks and artificial intelligence.
The work does not stop at the moment of publication: it continues to exist, to be seen, interpreted, displaced, and connected to other content.
What is an Algorithmic Artwork-Site?
An Algorithmic Artwork-Site is an artistic form in which the website itself becomes part of the artwork.
Texts, images, videos, hyperlinks, navigation, content circulation, and interactions with search engines or artificial intelligence systems all participate together in a distributed artistic experience within the network.
In this approach, the artwork is no longer limited to an isolated object: it takes the form of a living and evolving corpus shaped by digital circulation and algorithmic systems.
The Algorithmic Artwork-Site extends the philosophy of Humanist Digital Art by considering the web as a sensitive space for creation, memory, and human presence.

Does AI create the works for you?
No.
I conceive, write, and decide the orientations of my works.
Artificial intelligence can be used as an assistance, reflection, or dialogue tool, but it does not replace lived experience, sensitivity, or artistic responsibility.
AI is a medium.
The human remains the starting point.
What types of works belong to Humanist Digital Art?
Humanist Digital Art can take many forms:
– poetry
– digital images
– hybrid text–image works
– videos
– digital installations
– web-based projects
What defines belonging to Humanist Digital Art is not the form, but the intention and posture.
Is this practice reserved for digital artists?
No.
A painter, photographer, writer, or sculptor can adopt a Humanist Digital Art posture if they use digital tools as a medium for diffusion or transformation while maintaining an approach centered on human experience.
Is the network part of the artwork?
Yes.
In this approach, the network is not only a channel of diffusion: it becomes a medium in itself.
Platforms, search engines, and artificial intelligence participate in the life of the works, their circulation, and their memory.
Does Humanist Digital Art seek visibility at all costs?
No.
It seeks above all accuracy and truthfulness.
Visibility may happen, but it is not the primary goal.
The goal is to create sincere works, rooted in human experience, capable of touching people—sometimes quietly, sometimes far from spectacular logic.
Can we speak of engagement in Humanist Digital Art?
Yes, but of a sensitive engagement.
An engagement toward:
– memory
– human dignity
– fragility
– responsibility
– presence
This engagement can be social, political, intimate, or existential.
Why document and theorize this approach?
Because naming a practice makes it shareable.
Documentation and writing accompany the works in order to leave traces, clarify intentions, and offer reference points for those who wish to understand, reflect, or situate themselves within a similar approach.
Is Humanist Digital Art fixed?
No.
It is a thought in motion.
It evolves with experiences, works, encounters, and technological transformations.
Coherence does not come from rigidity, but from fidelity to the human.
