I explore the human condition through contemporary poetry, visual arts, and digital writing. My work brings together light and fragility, memory and disappearance, in a search for meaning, emotion, and inner truth. My artistic universe is rooted in a practice of Humanist Digital Art, where technology becomes a sensitive language in the service of memory, consciousness, and human presence. I also develop a practice of Quebec humanist poetry, where writing becomes a place of memory, presence, and gentle resistance to the erasure of the contemporary world.

This website also evolves as an Algorithmic Artwork-Site, where texts, images, navigation, and digital circulation participate in an evolving artistic experience.

My Artistic and Poetic Approach

I am Gilles Vallée — digital artist, poet, and sculptor.
My work lies at the crossroads of words, images, and memory. Each creation becomes a space where I try to grasp what shapes us, what escapes us, and what remains within our human experience.

Through this approach I now call Humanist Digital Art, I seek to reconcile the light of the digital with the depth of the living world. I explore this idea as a way to use technology not as a filter that distances us from ourselves, but as a tool capable of expressing inner light, emotional resonance, and the traces that form our shared humanity.

I developed this reflection in the text Manifesto of Humanist Digital Art, where I examine the relationship between technology, poetry, and the human experience. This manifesto proposes a vision of digital art centered on the human — an art that uses the tools of its time to speak of life, memory, and the ties that bind us together.

I also described how this concept emerged in the article How the Concept of Humanist Digital Art Was Born, a reflection on my journey and on the birth of a creative approach that unites memory, light, and humanity.

Writing in the first-person “I” offers me an inner territory. It allows me to enter the nuances of memory, the layers of emotion, and the vulnerability that makes us profoundly human. I create to preserve traces, to resist forgetting, to bring to light what connects us to one another.

My Universe

My work explores the tension between beauty and erasure, light and disappearance, memory and the unknown. I use digital imagery as one would use a brush of light: to reveal presence, to amplify emotion, to give shape to the unspeakable.

This Humanist Digital Art becomes a place of dialogue between the human and the machine, between the visible and the invisible, between poetic intuition and digital creation. My images and poems form a personal language — a human-centered digital expression rooted in sensitivity, memory, and the emotional experience of being alive.

I am drawn to what trembles: intimate revolts, silent absences, sparks of awareness. Through my poetic and visual series, I create fragments of life, suspended moments, windows opened onto the invisible.

Above all, my work seeks authenticity — a space where art becomes a human gesture, deeply rooted in what we are and in what we are becoming. An art of memory, emotion, and shared presence.

To create is to write, draw, and sculpt light into the memory of humanity. I want my works — poems, digital images, sculptures, and videos — to remain as fragments of human experience, delicate sparks placed at the heart of the digital silence.
